About Ginnie’s House
Ginnie’s House is a not-for-profit child advocacy center in Sussex County, NJ that serves adolescent victims of sexual or physical abuse. When abuse is reported—from family members, schools, or concerned community members—the child is brought to Ginnie’s House.
Ginnie’s House uniquely provides on-site services that most other child advocacy centers do not offer. Rather than providing shelter for the abused, they act as a central hub that allows victims and their families to get the proper assistance and counseling they need to move forward and to heal.
Problem
Like all non-profit organizations, Ginnie’s House was looking to bring more awareness to their organization. In addition to attracting more volunteers and attendees for their events, they need to raise funds through donations. Ginnie’s House needed to create a robust website that would elevate their presence in the community and allow them to compete with other non-profit agencies for donor dollars.
Website Woes
The existing web site was lacking in functionality and visually dated. The primary website goal was to create a modern web-presence, which included functionality such as being mobile-friendly and automating marketing/fundraising efforts by including a calendar for events, opportunities to register for events and send donations electronically, and easy-to-identify calls to actions.
Another big consideration was to develop content that narrated the experience of coming to Ginnie’s House, and the long-lasting effects of their assistance.
